NICK LACHEY AND JESSICA SIMPSON: This golden couple became household names on MTV’s “Newlyweds,” playing the role of adoringly patient husband and adorably ditsy wife. They became tabloid fodder as their 3-year marriage soured, rumors of infidelity swirled and fans cried, “We want the truth!” In a crude awakening for those who believe in “reality” love, Simpson filed for divorce in late 2005.

JASON MESNICK AND MELISSA RYCROFT: Mesnick flipped fans’ worlds upside when he dumped winner Rycroft for the runner-up, Molly Malaney. Rycroft moved on to “Dancing With the Stars” — a giant leap forward for her celebrity status. She can also take pleasure in rewatching the unintentionally hilarious “Bachelor” scene in which Mesnick sobs dramatically over a balcony. You dodged a bullet there, Melissa.

HULK AND LINDA HOGAN: After three seasons, the VH1 series “Hogan Knows Best” ended for good in 2007 as the wrestler’s family life took a dark turn. Supposedly, the Hulk cheated on Linda, who slapped down divorce papers and promptly began dating a 19-year-old version of her husband. Daughter Brooke Hogan has since gotten out the house — and her own reality show/trainwreck “Brooke Knows Best.”

DAVE NAVARRO AND CARMEN ELECTRA: OK, this union seemed built to last — and not because rocker Navarro and hottie Electra documented their wedded bliss for an MTV show called “‘Till Death Do Us Part: Carmen&Dave.” But because they seem like good people who could make it work (despite their rocky romantic track records). Sadly, they called it quits in 2006 after more than two years of marriage.

COUNT AND COUNTESS DE LESSEPS: This split happened off camera but grabbed gossip headlines. Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, one of the cast members on Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York,” confirmed her separation from Count Alexandre de Lesseps in March, something the catty series didn’t catch. After 16 years on wife duty, the Countess-turned-etiquette author will keep her title and, presumably, her dignity.

HEF AND THE “GIRLS NEXT DOOR”: Hugh Hefner had three times the heartache last year when his closest girlfriends — Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson, who now has a bunny in the oven — dumped him and moved on to other opportunities. The Playboy mogul has since replaced them with 19-year-old twins and a busty blonde named Crystal.

PAT AND BILL LOUD: 1973’s “An American Family” has been regarded as the granddaddy of reality TV, when son Lance Loud came out of the closet before millions. But it was really a documentary, and as the 12-part series unfolded, viewers caught the very public dissolution of a marriage. Pat, cold as steel, informed her cheating husband Bill that she was divorcing him.

Rihanna and her ex-beau both appeared Monday at the scheduled preliminary hearing. The songstress had been expected to stick to the vivid ccount she gave in a police report. Instead, Brown’s plea deal was reached before the hearing.

In February, the R&B power couple made headlines when Brown allegedly beat his then-girlfriend after they argued over a text message from another woman. At the time, the two were en route to a pre-Grammy Awards party.

Today, Rihanna’s attorney said the singer did not want Brown to be barred from having contact with her.

“I want Mr. Brown to be treated the same as any other defendant who would come into this court,” L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said. “That means something like Caltrans [trash disposal for the state's Department of Transportation] or graffiti removal, and a two-week domestic violence program.”

“I think it is commendable you took responsibility for your conduct,” Schnegg told Brown.

After Brown and his entourage left the courtroom, Rihanna entered through a back door. The songstress was informed of the stay-away order by the judge. “Thank you,” she told the judge. She was then led out through the same back door.

Rihanna had not been seeking a stay-away order, but the judge imposed one anyway. The order requires that Brown and Rihanna stay at least 50 yards from each, except at industry events when the distance is reduced to 10 yards.

The judge also told Rihanna it’s not a one-way order and she will be in violation if she gets closer to Brown than the order allows.

Though the judge expressed some concerns because Brown is not a California resident, it appears Brown will be allowed to do his community service in his home state of Virginia.

Since their spat, the couple’s status has been unclear, with some reports suggesting the two were together.

According to People, the actor and his producer girlfriend welcomed Mabel Painter Lowe to the family on Saturday in LA.

“Everybody is healthy and happy,” a rep for the actor said.

In January, Chad told that Kim broke the good news of her pregnancy with just a grin and a look in her eye.

“She woke up with a very big smile on her face and I knew exactly what that meant,” he told.

Chad and Kim have been dating since January 2007. Mabel is the couple’s first child.

Chad was previously married to two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank. They split in 2006 after eight years of marriage.

She will start her tour in the Europe on June 3rd, the first destination is Lodon.

“Every time I am making a movie I feel insecure, and I feel scared, and that’s part of the way I work,” said Cruz, who stars as an actress caught between her film-director lover and a rich, ruthless businessman in Pedro Almodovar’s Cannes contender “Broken Embraces”

“If one day I would be on the set feeling too secure — that would really scare me.”

None of that nervousness shows in the film, a color-drenched blend of romance, melodrama and humor. Cruz is radiant, and Almodovar styles her in visual homages to Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and other classic cinema stars.

She also appears in a hilarious movie-within-the-movie, a rapid-fire comedy with more than a passing resemblance to Almodovar’s 1988 breakout film “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.”

Cruz, 35, who won this year’s supporting-actress Oscar for her feisty, funny turn in Woody Allen’s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” said she found the comedy in “Broken Embraces” harder to play than its drama.

“It’s a very delicate and subtle tone, especially with Pedro,” Cruz said. “He’s like an orchestra director — very, very precise.”

The movie is Cruz’s fourth collaboration with Almodovar, who first cast the actress as a prostitute in 1997’s “Live Flesh” and has since had her play a pregnant nun with AIDS in “All About My Mother” and a passionate, volatile cook in “Volver”

She has become something of a muse to the Spanish director, whom she first met when she was 17.

“The way he shoots and the ideas that he has, they blow me away,” Cruz said. “When he comes to the set with the news about how everything is going to be shot every day, it is always so unexpected, always so interesting.

Cruz’s jitters reached epic proportions when she had to record a song at London’s Abbey Road studios, where The Beatles once made music.

“You feel very vulnerable, because you can’t hide anything,” she said of singing. “But it was so much fun. After you are there and you start singing and everything starts to come together, if you can really be in the moment and enjoy it, it’s an amazing experience.”

But the top spot went to a beauty from a different kind of “House.” The FOX medical drama’s resident hottie, Olivia Wilde, snagged the top spot for 2009 and has men across the country drooling.

This June, fans will get to see a different side of Olivia as she busts out her comic chops in “Year One,” co-starring Jack Black and Michael Cera. Olivia will play Princess Inanna alongside the funnymen.
